Extremely blessed and honored to be named a Honoree for Glamour Magazine’s College Women of the Year.
Glamour's annual College Women of the Year is a series they've done for more than 60 years that spotlights exceptional students across America. This year, they wanted to recognize a particular vanguard of greatness: historically Black colleges and universities.
Thank you @glamourmag for recognizing my efforts for health justice and mitigating disparities in cosmetics, and congrats to the rest of the phenomenal cohort.

"More now than ever, it is paramount that I take myself seriously if I expect others to do the same. I like this idea that with whatever I produce, it creates the question of whether or not it is my work. I acknowledge that my "mediums" of creativity transcend industry, often raising the question, "this is all yours?". My rhetorical response is it might be. More than anything, my focus creatively is on building habits of mind that manifest into the art I hope will reflect our stories. Consider this an archive. The takeaway is left to your discernment. There’s always the idea that this could be important, so maybe it should be documented, who knows?"

" Crafted to ensure the future of fashion reflects diverse creative minds, this scholarship recognizes the inequality diverse peoples face and is missioned to advocate for a change. This scholarship opens the doors of the high fashion realm, so that more can walk in. My childhood surrounded by unique seamstress taught me Black people have had stories to tell in fashion for a while and have simply needed someone to let the doors stay open for us to walk through. Like many creatives, I carry the memories of learning to design and watching my mentors perform their crafts. It is these stories that have the potential to change the way the world understands 'high fashion'."

Created to give AUC students a space for their work to be presented. We focus on uplifting the AUC creative community through monthly exposure. We aimed to foster a larger creative community and appreciation for the the work/talent/creativity of students in the AUC.
